Back by popular demand is the “sizzling” workshop that plays with fire!
If you’ve always wanted to try using a blowtorch in your artwork – particularly for encaustics – this is for you. We will show how to safely start and use a blowtorch with individual instruction. All supplies are included, and you’ll have time to do four small works during the workshop.

At The Dublin Art Barn
You will be under strict supervision to maintain safe practices at all times. Prior experience for encaustics is recommended but not required.
The Dublin Art Barn is a rustic converted stable across the street from the Dublin Community Recreation Center at 5600 Post Rd. Dublin, OH 43017.
Instructor: Bev Goldie, BFA, Member of the International Encaustics Association and Instructor at the Columbus Cultural Arts Center and DAAL Member.
Classes are $175.00/ $160.00 for Dublin Area Art League Members.
All waxes, inks, shellacs, blowtorches and boards will be included.
Classes are limited to 8 students, 16 years and up, with a minimum of 4 to make it viable. If you must cancel, or not enough people register, contact must be made by August 25th and a refund will be provided. Participants must be at least 16 years of age. (Minors will have to have an adult sign their waiver of liability form at the event.) Payment and registration must be received no later than August 25th.
A waiver of liability is necessary to sign with the class.
Participants should bring their lunch (there is not a refrigerator), and this particular weekend, the Community Recreation Center is not open, so we will go to my personal barn studio to dine and use the restroom if needed from noon – 1 PM. (We’ll carpool – it’s 5 minutes away on Coffman Rd.)
