About Cody Heichel

Cody Heichel is an Ohio-based representational painter working in oil and watercolor. His paintings are
created through a fusion of direct observational work and studio practices.
Concerning his paintings, Heichel says: “I strive to visually interpret that which I find to be interesting
about my own daily environment. The subjects I chose to paint may be as impersonal as a puddle on
the side of the road, or as intimate as my parent’s cat, resting beside their wood-burning stove in my
childhood home. They all represent, with equal weight, the sights which cause me to pause, and urge
me to create.”
