Robie Benve’s Vibrant & Colorful Paintings Featured at Marcia Evans Gallery in the Short North
Robie Benve was born and raised in Italy where she received her MBA at the University of Venice. She has since become a self-taught artist living in Upper Arlington, OH.
Robie currently works with acrylics and mixed media that include layers of paint, paper, fabric, ink, charcoal as well as abstract patterns and the use of hand-cut stencils.
Journey is a collection of paintings representing places and people connected to the positive experiences that have shaped he life as a citizen of the World.
The collection of scenes and portraits were inspired by her journey, starting from Venice, Italy where she grew up, to Ohio, with some passages in between.
The series includes cityscapes of Venice, Paris, New York, and of course, Columbus rendered with layers of different media, such as paper, fibers, markers, and acrylic paint.
The show Journey will be on view through October 31st, 2020
