Juror’s Michael McEwans’s comments:
“Group shows are always a bit of a crap shoot for artists; one has no idea what will be chosen,
and once in the show, not all of them looks particularly great with a wide variety of other pieces.
However, it takes a bit of courage to try, and art if nothing else is the constant taking of a leap of
faith.
This show, though small, had a great range of approaches. From the inventive abstraction,
digitally painted photos, studio works and paintings done from life. All of them celebrate the
unique feel of Dublin and that of the Emerald Isle.
If you entered and did not get in, do not fret, I have been rejected from more shows than I
have entered – it is just par for the course.
To all of you, thank you for sharing your work with the community. It has been my pleasure
to serve as juror.”
